Mariko approaches therapy with curiosity, compassion, and humility, engaging the therapeutic process via a trauma-informed, harm-reduction lens, and with the genuine belief that each human being has the innate potential to create authentic and lasting change. She is committed to ongoing learning through personal and professional development, to ensure treatment services are current, culturally inclusive, affirming, client-centered, and evidence-based.

With over a decade of experience in the mental health field, Mariko uses an integrative approach to therapy. She draws from humanistic, cognitive, behavioural, and psychodynamic therapies, tailoring treatment plans to fit each client’s needs. 

Mariko is equally passionate and committed to her work with couples, relationships, and other intimate partnerships and emotional bonds. She has witnessed and experienced the transformative power of relationships, healing through connection, and the science of both love and attachment. Mariko is passionate about supporting others to understand and reduce relationship distress, improve communication, trust, safety, and intimacy, repair family/cultural conflicts, navigate significant life transitions, and heal relationship injuries caused by infidelity, grief, or another difficult loss.
